Philip McKay is an accomplished intellectual property attorney with extensive experience in patent law. Currently serving as Chair of the Patent, IP, Internet, and Emerging Technology/Business Groups at Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley since December 2013, Philip manages the Patent Department and prepares and prosecutes patent applications. As the founding partner of McKay and Hodgson, L.L.P. from January 2000 to December 2013, Philip prepared and prosecuted over 300 issued US patents and provided strategic business and technology counseling for clients. Previous roles include Senior Patent Counsel at Sun Micro Systems, Patent Attorney at Skjerven Morrill MacPherson, and Electronic Warfare Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy. Philip holds a JD from USC Gould School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from UCLA.
