Salony M. has a long history of legal experience, beginning in 2004 when they were an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of Thomas Stutzman. Salony then worked as a Staff Attorney at Legal Assistance for Seniors, where they resolved hundreds of cases involving consumer fraud, debt collection, financial abuse, housing, and guardianship matters. In 2008, they moved to the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, where they first served as Counsel, reviewing securities offerings to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal securities laws. Salony was later promoted to Senior Counsel, influencing legislation on disruptive technologies such as cryptocurrency, peer-to-peer lending, and crowdfunding. In 2015, they joined CalPERS as a Senior Attorney, executing legal strategy for the nation's largest public pension fund worth $500 billion and providing legal advice on investment and transactional matters. Finally, in 2022, they began their current role as Corporate Counsel at Hayden AI.

Salony M. has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Sociology from the University of California, Davis. In addition, Salony has obtained a CIPP/US Cert Prep: 1 U.S. Privacy Environment from LinkedIn in February 2022, a CFA Institute Investment Foundations Certificate from CFA Institute in September 2016, a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training from Yoga in 2009, and is a Member of the California State Bar from the State Bar of California since January 2004.
