Weilie Yi

Weilie Yi has a long and varied work experience. Weilie began their career in 2006 as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where they worked on Bing's core relevance team and an incubation project which indexed and searched features in desktop applications. In 2010, they moved to Kiha as a Software Scientist, where they worked on personalized search, email recipient suggestion/auto-complete, and some location modeling. In 2011, they joined Placed as VP, Data Science and Principal Scientist, where they built the data science team and worked on algorithm design, extracting information from large scale location and geospatial data. In 2017, they became VP, Engineering Data Science of Placed at Snap Inc. In 2019, they joined Foursquare as a Principal Data Scientist after Placed was acquired by Foursquare. In 2021, they became an Artificial Intelligence/Data Science Consultant at Early Stage Startup Companies. Finally, in 2022, they joined Hayden AI as VP, Data Science.

Weilie Yi received their Ph.D in Computer Science from the University of Rochester in 2006. Prior to this, they obtained a BS/MS in Computer Science from Fudan University in 2001. In 2015, they also obtained an Intermediate level certification in Spanish Fluency from Duolingo.
