M. Utku Karataş

M. Utku Karataş has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. M. Utku is currently employed as a Senior Software Developer at Hazelcast since December 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Full Stack Developer at a Stealth Startup from December 2019 to July 2020.

Before joining the startup, they were a Contract Developer at Whipdata from June 2018 to December 2019. During their tenure, they led the frontend development of Whipdata's Amazon marketplace analytics app suite using Vue/Nuxt framework and also assisted the team with Django issues and dev-ops architecture.

From January 2017 to December 2019, M. Utku Karataş worked as a Contract Developer at Wizbu, where they contributed to several projects by utilizing React Native and Swift.

In addition, they served as a Contract Developer at CosmeClub from February 2018 to June 2018. Here, they were responsible for architecting and implementing the backend and frontend of the cosmeclub.com website using Python, Django, Wagtail CMS, Postgresql, and Redis.

Before that, they were a Contract Developer at AsosyalSozluk.com from March 2015 to June 2018. M. Utku played a key role in building a social media application from scratch using Python, Django, TypeScript, XMPP, LXD on the backend, and React/Next on the frontend.

Furthermore, they worked as a Contract Developer at Zebramo Inc. from February 2017 to February 2018, where they built the frontend of the Zebramo app using Vue.js as a progressive web application (PWA) consuming Zebramo's backend services.

Additionally, M. Utku Karataş served as the CTO at EKSERIYA from August 2012 to February 2015. Here, they built a team of approximately 10 people and collaborated with software engineers, designers, and 3D artists to develop mobile/desktop games using C++, OpenGL, Javascript, HTML5, and various mobile SDKs.

Moreover, M. Utku Karataş worked as a Cowboy Coder at Pfaide Inc from 2009 to 2010. Their responsibilities included designing and developing a Python IDE for Windows platforms using Delphi, Python, C, and Win32 technologies. M. Utku eventually open-sourced the result after a shareware failure.

M. Utku Karataş attended Kadikoy Anadolu Lisesi from 1998 to 2002, where they completed their high school education. M. Utku then pursued a degree in Physics at Sakarya University from 2003 to 2009.
