Jan van Oeveren

Jan Van Oeveren is an accomplished professional in the field of genomics and bioinformatics with extensive experience spanning several roles. Currently serving as an Associate Genomics Breeder and Senior Data Scientist at Hazera Seeds since May 2018, Jan has a strong background in experimental design and analysis using next-generation sequencing technology. Prior to this, Jan held various positions at KeyGene from 1994 to April 2018, including Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and Interim Program Scientist Lead Discovery, where responsibilities included project management, statistical support, and team leadership. Jan’s career began with a PhD research position at Wageningen UR, focused on optimizing selection methods in plant breeding. Educational credentials include a Dr. ir. degree in Plant Breeding from Wageningen University & Research.
