Michael Lülfesmann

Michael Lülfesmann has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Michael started their career as a Research Associate at RWTH Aachen University in 2006 and worked there until 2011. During this period, they also served as a Visiting Researcher at the National Institute of Informatics for a brief period in 2010.

After leaving academia, Lülfesmann joined Balcke-Dürr in 2011. Michael initially worked as an R&D Engineer - Software for a year before being promoted to Team Leader Software. Michael held this position until 2017.

In 2017, Lülfesmann joined HDI Group as the Head of Software Development Life Insurance. Michael held this position until 2020 when they transitioned to the role of Principal Innovation Engineer - AI, a position they held until 2023. Currently, they serve as the Chapter Lead Data Science & Big Data Engineers at HDI Group.

Michael Lülfesmann holds a Dr.rer.nat. (equivalent to PhD degree) in computer science (Informatik) from RWTH Aachen University. Michael also completed a Dipl.-Inform. (equivalent to MSc in computer science) from the same university.
