Jake Harens

Jake Harens, P.E. is a seasoned professional in the energy sector with a career spanning over 17 years. Currently serving as the Power Market Sector Lead at HDR since September 2025, Jake has held significant roles in previous companies, including the Sr. Manager of Project Delivery and T&D Engineering Supervisor at Black Hills Energy from January 2019 to September 2025. Jake's career began as a Construction Engineer at NorthWestern Energy from February 2009 to January 2019, following a role as a Power Conversion Design Engineer at Rockwell Collins from May 2006 to February 2009. An alumnus of South Dakota Mines, Jake earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering between 1998 and 2006.
