Sean is a corporate lawyer who has represented Fortune 50 companies in complex business litigation and regulatory investigations. He uses his legal experience to help companies navigate the regulations that apply to blockchain.
Sean left a position as a philosophy professor to start his legal career at the University of Texas School of Law where he was an Articles Editor on the Texas Law Review. Sean’s background in political philosophy and law provide the building blocks for assessing governmental applications and regulatory changes in blockchain. Prior to co-founding He3Labs, Sean worked as an associate at Jones Day and Partner at both Alston & Bird and Gardere Wynn Sewell, during which time he began representing clients in blockchain. Sean recognized blockchain’s potential to create secure, transparent, and auditable business solutions that prompted the formation of He3.
As COO and General Counsel, Sean guides He3Labs’ business strategy as well as working with clients to understand the shifting legal landscape that impacts blockchain projects. Sean monitors the SEC, IRS, CFTC, and Department of Treasury to keep abreast of the evolving regulatory and legal standards that apply to blockchain.
