Chris Scales

Chris Scales is a highly experienced materials and corrosion specialist, currently serving as a Specialist Inspector at the Health and Safety Executive since November 2013, where responsibilities include inspection, investigation, and leading scientific research on Net Zero regulations. Additionally, Chris Scales is the Head of the Centre for Asset Integrity in the HSE Science Division as of January 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Metallurgist at BAE Systems, where expertise encompassed metallurgical consulting and mechanical testing, and various metallurgist positions at Atlantic Engineering Ltd, OIS PLC, and CAPCIS LIMITED focusing on failure investigation and testing. Chris Scales holds a BSc Hons in Metallurgy from The University of Manchester and a NEBOSH Diploma in Regulatory Health and Safety from the Health and Safety Executive.
