Peter Rankin

Peter Rankin currently serves as the Head of Energy and Environmental Standards at the Health and Safety Executive, a position held since April 2023. Previously, Peter held the same title at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities from June 2019 to April 2023, and at the Department for Communities and Local Government from March 2016 to June 2019. Earlier in the career, Peter worked as a Principal Building Services Engineer, an Energy and Sustainability Engineer at Portakabin Ltd, and a Mechanical Engineer at Mott MacDonald. Peter began professional endeavors as a Graduate Engineer at Halcrow Yolles. Educationally, Peter earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Environmental Energy Engineering from the University of Leeds between 2003 and 2006.
