Beata Bak is an experienced Assessment Officer at Health Canada since July 2020, with a robust background in medical editing and writing. Prior to this role, Beata served as a Senior Medical Editor at IC Axon from September 2013 to July 2020, where expertise was developed in creating medical and sales training content across various therapeutic areas, including oncology, immuno-oncology, biologics, hematology, endocrinology, and rare diseases. Beata also held positions as a Medical Editor and Medical Writer, contributing to the same therapeutic research fields. Beata earned a PhD in Molecular Endocrinology from McGill University, where research focused on the Immunoglobulin superfamily, member 1 (IGSF1), and served as a Teaching Assistant and Guest Lecturer during the academic career at McGill, which included courses in drug design, development, and general pharmacology. Beata began the academic journey at McGill University, receiving a BSc in Physiology. Additional early experience includes serving as a Summer Research Volunteer at the Cleveland Clinic, where patient DNA samples were screened by PCR.
