Beheshta Sharifi

Beheshta Sharifi is a Junior Policy Analyst at Health Canada | Santé Canada, specializing in the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Mental Health Division since November 2023. In this role, Beheshta is the main drafter for the development and implementation of the 2024-2027 Multi-Year Diversity Employment Equity Plan for the Public Health Agency of Canada, adhering to various legislative requirements including the Employment Equity Act. Simultaneously, Beheshta serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at York University since September 2018, contributing to courses in Criminal Justice Systems and Socio-legal Theories, while also holding various positions within committees, including the Union Trustees' Committee and the Labour Management Committee. Previous experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carleton University from September 2016 to August 2018. Beheshta holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Socio-Legal Studies from York University and a Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Legal Studies from Carleton University.
