Fonkou Steve

Fonkou Steve is an accomplished professional in the field of blood transfusion and healthcare management, currently serving as a Member of the Clinical Transfusion Working Party at the International Society of Blood Transfusion since October 2020, and participating in global initiatives to enhance transfusion standards. Fonkou coordinates the Sickle Cell Clinic at Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services, overseeing the care of over 200 patients and driving significant clinic growth. As a Transfusion Medicine Specialist, Fonkou has achieved substantial improvements in blood services quality, impacting over 2.5 million patients. In addition to roles at various organizations, Fonkou leads projects aimed at blood donor recruitment and retention, contributes to international health discussions, and has demonstrated leadership in training and mentorship programs. Fonkou's academic background includes a Specialized Master’s in Science from Université catholique de Louvain and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Buea, both achieved as valedictorian.
