Ramiro Zuniga, MD, MBA, FAAFP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare field. Ramiro is currently a member of the Board of Directors, Finance and Investment Committee, and DEI Committee at Archstone Foundation since July 2022. Prior to that, they held multiple positions at Health Net, including Vice President, Medical Director for Medi-Cal, Senior Medical Director for Medi-Cal, and Regional Medical Director from 2018 to present. Dr. Zuniga also served as Clinical Faculty and Program Director for the Family Medicine Residency Program at San Joaquin General Hospital, where they worked from 1999 until 2014. Additionally, they were the Medical Director for California Health & Wellness at Centene Corporation from 2014 to 2018. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Family Medicine Physician at Tehama County Health Center from 1996 to 1999.
Ramiro Zuniga, MD, MBA, FAAFP obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 1989. Ramiro completed their Family Medicine Residency Program at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago from 1993 to 1996. In 2013, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of California, Davis. Additionally, they completed the Innovation Catalyst Program: Human Centered Innovation in Health Care at the Center for Care Innovations in 2013. In 2021, they attended the Executive Education programs at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management (AHIP Executive Leadership Program) and Yale School of Management (Accelerated Management Program).
