Hannah Carliner

Director, Research and Evaluation at Health Resources in Action

Hannah Carliner has extensive experience in research and evaluation within the public health and medical fields. Hannah is currently serving as the Director of Research and Evaluation at Health Resources in Action since September 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and New York State Psychiatric Institute, where they held the role of Assistant Professor of Clinical Epidemiology (in Psychiatry) and also served as the Project Director for the Boricua Youth Study - Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) from January 2017 to September 2019.

Before joining Columbia University, Hannah gained research experience as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health - Department of Epidemiology from September 2014 to December 2016. Hannah also pursued their doctoral degree at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where they were a Doctoral Student from September 2009 to May 2014.

Hannah’s earlier career experiences include working as a Consultant at Health Resources in Action from May 2010 to October 2011, serving as a Research Coordinator at New York State Psychiatric Institute from December 2007 to July 2009, and working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UCSF Medical Center from May 2004 to June 2006. Hannah also gained technical experience as a Technical Assistant at Arvesta Corporation from January 2003 to April 2004 and completed an internship at the New England Aquarium from September 2001 to December 2001.

In addition to their paid positions, Hannah has contributed their expertise as a Senior Advisor and Internship Coordinator (volunteer) at Natalia for Congress from April 2020 to September 2020.

Hannah Carliner has a strong education background in the field of public health, with a focus on social and psychiatric epidemiology. Hannah graduated from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where they obtained a SD degree from 2009 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health from 2006 to 2008, earning their MPH degree. Hannah also holds a BA degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Hannah'seducation journey began at Newton North High School, although the specific years of attendance are unknown.
