Karen Medina MD, M.Sc. is a seasoned health care professional with extensive experience in health care and education improvement. Currently serving as a Health Care and Education Improvement Advisor and Patient-Centred-Care Expert Consultant at Health Standards Organization since March 2019, Medina is also an International Surveyor for Accreditation Canada and Co-Founder of Guest Medical Assistance. Previous roles include Professional Scientist in Methodology at the Institut national d'excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS), and positions at CIUSSS de l'Est-de-l'Île-de-Montréal focused on youth program direction and public health collaboration. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad San Francisco de Quito, a Master's in Health Management, and advanced training in health technology assessment and sexual and reproductive health research. Currently, Medina is furthering education at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
