Charles Powell

As Executive Vice President of Clinical Operations for Healthcare Associates of Texas, Dr. Powell supports all healthcare providers, oversees clinical compliance and quality initiatives, develops clinical protocols, and guides the organization’s mission of superior service. With board certification in Family Medicine, and as a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Powell also continues to care for patients, however on a limited basis. While the well-being of his patients remains his top priority, Dr. Powell’s administrative role allows him to impact more lives as he relieves burdens from HCAT providers, thus enabling them to provide the absolute highest quality of care to their patients.

Dr. Powell received a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. In New Orleans, he served as the Director of Clinical Services at the Naval Ambulatory Care Clinic and also as a Staff Emergency Physician at the Saint Charles Parish Hospital. Dr. Powell has been married for almost 20 years and is father to three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and LSU football – go Tigers!
