Cheryl oversees print and editorial operations for the journal, ensuring that the content is clinically accurate, timely, and targeted to the journal audience. She works with authors, editors, peer reviewers, the Production Director, Digital Editor, Managing Editor, Editor-in-chief, and the editorial board to collaborate on meeting readers’ needs. Her focus is on developing essential content to inform nurses about relevant cutting-edge clinical practice content, application of the latest evidence, and professional and social issues impacting nurses, that is well-edited for busy working nursing professionals.
Cheryl has 25 years in Health Science Publishing and has worked in roles in acute care as staff, manager, and educator. She is passionate about helping nurses share their unique stories about working smarter, using evidence and best practices to impact health outcomes, and staying strong through stressful times.
Cheryl’s career illustrates her commitment to service, diversity in nursing, cultural competence, and improved health for the underserved. She is on the Board of Americans for Native Americans, where she has worked to provide scholarships, NCLEX fees, and varied clinical experiences for Native American nursing students and plans annual health screening programs assessing hundreds of Navajo elementary school children. Her work enhances the education of the nursing students, the health of elementary students, and the cultural perspective of the volunteer nurses.
