Ron Roma

Mr. Roma is the founder, chief visionary and owner of Healthesystems. He began his extensive career as a pharmacist developing solutions for retail, mail order and hospital settings. He brings a comprehensive and unique understanding of the issues involved in processing and administering prescription drug benefit management programs. Mr. Roma served in executive, product development and sales leadership capacities and helped develop the PBM industry’s first electronic processing solutions to serve group health and government payers. He also was responsible for developing and implementing the first workers’ compensation specific PBM program that electronically processed prescription drug transactions with retail pharmacies.

Mr. Roma’s leadership and entrepreneurial successes have been significant contributors to shaping the PBM industry at large as well as the workers’ compensation insurance segment. His extensive industry insight is called on frequently to help predict and navigate industry trends. Among his various entrepreneurial successes includes founding and developing a pharmacy management and adjudication system company -- which has been used for managing some of the largest group health PBM programs in the healthcare industry, in addition to workers’ compensation. His expertise and success in developing the tools for prospectively adjudicating pharmacy transactions were also the building blocks for his vision to develop the Healthesystems ancillary benefits management platform, which remains an exclusive and industry unique program.

Mr. Roma is the visionary behind many of the Healthesystems solutions and services. He drew on his deep industry knowledge when he formed Healthesystems. He was driven to address the inefficiencies he identified within the workers’ compensation PBM industry and strived to set new standards for the way pharmacy benefits are managed. To help realize his vision, Mr. Roma assembled a team of experienced executives well versed in workers’ compensation and pharmacy benefits management. They share his passion for innovation, excellence and exceptional customer service. Together they built Healthesystems into a leading clinically driven, workers’ compensation PBM and ancillary services solution provider.
