Rick Hilger

Rick Hilger MD SFHM currently serves as the System Care Management Medical Director and System Utilization Management Medical Director at HealthPartners since March 2020. Additionally, Rick holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School from April 2024. With a long-standing career at HealthPartners Medical Group since September 2001, Rick has worked as a Hospital Medicine Physician. Previously, Rick was Medical Director and Chief of Staff at Regions Hospital from August 2009 to April 2024. From 2009 to October 2019, Rick directed the Hospital Medicine Pathway for residents at HealthPartners/University of Minnesota. Rick completed an Internal Medicine/Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Minnesota, earning the title of Chief Resident in 2001 after receiving a Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University Medical School. Rick also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Creighton University.
