Chamal Gomes

Chamal Gomes has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Chamal started their career at Telstra in 2017 as a Project Consultant. In 2018, they joined NMG Consulting as a Model Developer and later became an Actuarial Intern, where they assisted with regulatory submissions and fraud detection research. In 2019, they worked as an Analyst at LI Labs before joining Healthscope in 2020 as a Data Analyst. Currently, they hold the role of Data Science Lead at Healthscope, where they develop strategies, collaborates with internal teams, and provides technical leadership to deliver impactful projects across the business.

Chamal Gomes completed their high school education at Royal College Colombo from 2001 to 2014, focusing on Business/Commerce. Chamal then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science at the University of Melbourne from 2015 to 2017. Following this, they continued their education at the same institution, obtaining a Master's degree in Commerce (Actuarial Science), with a research focus on Deep Learning from 2018 to 2019.
