Jason Hessing

Sr. Director, Product Research & Design at Healthwise

Jason Hessing has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jason started their career with Indiana University Bloomington as an Associate Instructor and Research Assistant. Jason then worked at WisdomTools as an Instructional Designer before joining SUPERVALU (formerly Albertsons) as a Business Systems Analyst. Jason quickly progressed within the company and took on roles such as Sr. Business Process Designer/Requirements Analyst and Principal Instructional Designer. Jason also launched and led a UX research team during their tenure.

In 2010, Jason moved on to Healthwise where they took on several positions including Sr. Interaction Designer, Lead Interaction Designer, Sr. Interaction Design Manager, UX Strategist, and Discovery Coach. Jason focused on developing top design and research talent, ensuring product cohesion, and informing long-term strategies with research. Jason also played a key role in establishing and maintaining a design system to improve overall user experience.

Jason Hessing completed their education in the following sequence:

1. From 1996 to 2002, they attended Brigham Young University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Management, with an emphasis on Management Information Systems.

2. From 2002 to 2004, they enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington and pursued a degree in Instructional Systems Technology with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction.

In addition to their formal education, Jason Hessing has also acquired several certifications:

1. In September 2007, they achieved the Certified Usability Analyst certification from Human Factors International.

2. In May 2019, they completed the Design Leadership program offered by Cooper.

3. In January 2021, they obtained certifications in "Design Thinking: Understanding the Process" and "Becoming an AI-First Product Leader" through LinkedIn.

4. In February 2021, they completed the "Take a More Creative Approach to Problem-Solving" course on LinkedIn.

5. In March 2021, they acquired the "Telling Stories with Data" certification from LinkedIn.

6. In August 2022, they obtained certifications in "Equity First: The Path to Inclusion and Belonging" and "Uncovering Your Authentic Self at Work" through LinkedIn. Additionally, they became a Design Leadership Forum Member through InVision.

7. In October 2022, they completed the "500 Mentorship Minutes" program offered by adplist.org.

8. In February 2023, they achieved the "Confronting Racism, with Robin DiAngelo" certification from LinkedIn.
