Matt Lingner

Matt Lingner has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Matt currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Heap, where they lead two main organizations: Insights and Growth. In their role, they oversee the development of tools to help identify and address customer pain points and drives monetization initiatives. Prior to this, Matt worked as a Senior Engineering Manager at Dropbox, where they built and managed engineering teams focused on optimizing database performance and implementing microservices. Matt also ran cross-team initiatives related to technical strategy and quality. Before Dropbox, Matt worked as an Engineering Manager at Classy.org, leading the transition from a monolithic architecture to a microservices design using technologies like React and GraphQL. Matt also held roles as Lead Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, and Software Engineer at Classy.org. Matt has previous experience as a Web Application Developer at Barc, Inc. and as a Web Developer and Senior Data Strategist at FreshForm Interactive. Additionally, they worked as a Political Science Course Reader at UC San Diego and as a Research Assistant in the School of Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine. Matt also gained field research experience as a Field Researcher and Student at Nanjing University. Matt started their career as a Bookseller and Inventory Processor at Borders.

Matt Lingner attended UC San Diego from 2011 to 2012 but did not obtain a degree or specialize in a specific field of study during that time. From 2010 to 2011, they studied Mandarin Chinese and Japanese at San Diego Mesa College. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2010, Matt attended UC Irvine where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Political Science, and Conflict Resolution.

In addition to their education, Matt Lingner holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) which they obtained from the Scrum Alliance in January 2019.
