Vijay Umapathy

Vijay Umapathy has extensive work experience in product management and development. Vijay is currently serving as the Senior Director of Product Management at Heap since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the same company as the Director of Product Management from January 2020 to November 2022, and as a Senior Product Manager from September 2018 to January 2020.

Before joining Heap, Vijay worked as a Senior Product Manager at Jibo, Inc. from August 2016 to May 2018.

Vijay'scareer in product management started at Google, where they worked as a Product Manager on Inbox by Gmail from June 2013 to March 2016. Vijay also served as an Associate Product Manager at Google from August 2011 to June 2013.

Vijay has experience in entrepreneurship as well. Vijay was a Co-Founder at My Care Apps LLC from June 2010 to June 2011.

In the beginning of their career, Vijay gained valuable experience as an intern at Apple in the New Tech team of iPod, where they worked on prototyping new iPod and iPhone features from June 2009 to August 2009. Vijay also worked as a Research Assistant at MIT Media Lab during the summer of 2008.

Vijay started their career with a Product Development Internship at Bloom Energy in the summer of 2007.

Vijay'searly professional experience includes a SHARP Internship at NASA Ames Research Center in the summer of 2005, where they worked on a robotic test platform for automatic spacecraft docking and gained skills in Matlab, interfacing C with Matlab, and basic electrical wiring.

Vijay Umapathy completed their high school education at The Harker School from 2002 to 2006. Vijay then pursued higher studies and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2011. During this time, they obtained both a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
