Shema Kolainu - Hear Our Voices
Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices (SKHOV) offers a broad spectrum of evidence-based education and therapy programs to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related disabilities in a warm and nurturing environment. A nonpublic, nonprofit, nondenominational, multi-cultural school, we provide quality treatment, education, professional training and mentoring. Programs are designed to help children overcome the disabilities caused by autism, including teaching them to communicate, socialize, play, read and write. Children participate in academic and therapy programs while learning to become a member of their family and community. Because autism knows no national or cultural boundaries, Shema Kolainu shares its pioneering programs and research with professionals locally and abroad so that all people who struggle with developmental disabilities and autism may benefit from our expertise. SK-HOV offers both school- and home/community-based programs. In the community, we provide Early Intervention (EI), birth to age 3, and Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEIT), ages 3 to 5. We also offer evaluations, related support services and Medicaid waiver coordination. Our center-based programs include preschool and school-age programs for children, ages 3 to 11. We also offer resources, training and support services to parents and other caretakers. All programs are individualized and based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
