Alexandra Carlin

VP, Communications, Hearst at Hearst

Alexandra Carlin is vice president of communications at Hearst. In this position, she oversees internal and external communications as well as corporate events, philanthropy and special projects.

Prior, she served as vice president of public relations for Hearst Magazines, managing media strategy for the division and its brands, including consumer and trade publicity and overall brand reputation for print and digital.

Carlin joined Hearst Magazines in August 2006 as director of public relations, managing strategy, media and key partnerships for a variety of brands, including Food Network Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Harper’s BAZAAR and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Prior to joining Hearst, from 2004 to 2006, Carlin was director of public relations for cable network Court TV, now TruTV, where she handled public relations for the channel’s primetime programming. From 1999 to 2004, she worked in promotions marketing at The New York Times, developing multi-platform programs and sponsorships for The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine and their partners in the fashion, media, international and technology categories. Prior to that, Carlin was vice president at LaForce & Stevens, a public relations firm specializing in fashion, beauty, media and luxury brands, handling publicity, partnerships and producing large-scale events and promotions including runway shows and film screenings.

Carlin is a member of the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund’s Women’s Leadership Council. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
