Ruben van Helden

Ruben van Helden currently serves as a Senior Scientist at HeartBeat.bio AG since April 2023. Prior to this role, Ruben was a PhD Candidate at Leiden University Medical Center from April 2017 to May 2023, focusing on metabolic heart disease through research on human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. Ruben gained valuable experience as a Research Intern at Harvard University in 2015, specializing in stem cell research and CRISPR/Cas9 design, and held various research positions at Leiden University Medical Center from 2013 to 2015. Academically, Ruben obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Cardiovascular Stem Cell Research from Leiden University in 2021, following a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2017 and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2013, all from Leiden University.
