Edward Hudgins

Senior Fellow (2020- ) Research Director at The Heartland Institute

Edward Hudgins has a vast and extensive work experience. Edward is the Founder and President of Human Achievement Alliance since 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Fellow and Research Director at The Heartland Institute, starting in 2017. Edward has also served as the Executive Director of The Atlas Society - the Center for Objectivism since 2002. Additionally, Edward has held various positions at The Atlas Society, including Director of Advocacy and Senior Scholar. Edward has worked as an Advocate at the Space Frontier Foundation and served as the Advocacy Director and Senior Scholar at The Atlas Society. Edward has also served as an Elected Commissioner for the Town of Cottage City, Maryland. Furthermore, they have worked at the Cato Institute in Regulatory Studies and as a Senior Economist at the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress. Lastly, Edward worked at The Heritage Foundation as the Deputy Director of Economic Studies and Director of the Center for International Economic Growth.

Edward Hudgins earned a Bachelor's Degree in Government and Politics from The University of Maryland in 1974. In 1976, they completed a Master's Degree in Political Theory and History from American University. Edward then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Philosophy and International Relations from Catholic University of America in 1984.
