Philippe Bourbeau

Philippe Bourbeau serves as the Chairholder of the Canada Research Chair in Immigration and Security and a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Université Laval, where Philippe has held various academic positions since 2017, including Director of the Graduate School of International Studies. Prior to this role, Philippe Bourbeau was a Lecturer and College Research Associate at the University of Cambridge from 2014 to 2017 and a Lecturer at UNamur from 2011 to 2014. Philippe Bourbeau also worked as a Policy Advisor for the Government of Canada in 2011, focusing on national security and safety issues. Academic contributions include SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Ottawa and Aberystwyth University, alongside teaching positions and research engagements at prominent institutions throughout Europe. Philippe Bourbeau earned a PhD in Political Science from The University of British Columbia and holds both an M.A. and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from UQAM.
