Sam Somrock

Sam Somrock is a Manufacturing Engineer III at Hed Cycling Products since October 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing engineering overhauls in pneumatic and vacuum systems, leading product line redesigns, and guiding the engineering team. Previous experience includes roles at SpaceX as an Associate Build Engineer with a focus on design and build engineering, and an Engineering Manager. As an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Sam led the design and fabrication of solar composite wings for UAVs and served as a Teaching Assistant in Orbital Mechanics. Additional internships include Process Engineering Intern at AirCorps Aviation, where a Python GUI for quality control was developed, and a Mechanical Design Intern at Hed Cycling Products, focusing on human-machine interface improvements. Sam holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
