Alex Popowycz

Alex is an experienced IT executive with over 30 years of experience across defense, financials services, and healthcare, and is the Vice President of Information Systems and Security at Hedera. Prior to Hedera, he was CIO of a $2B multi-hospital healthcare system where he led digital transformation and system resilience initiatives. He also held various IT and Information Security executive roles at Fidelity Investments and has held several leadership positions in national and global IT consortia, including as a trusted advisor on the Federal Government’s Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board. A United States Air Force Academy graduate, he served in the Air Force leading surveillance and intelligence programs. Alex earned an MBA from Bentley University.
