Torsten Oster

Torsten Oster is an experienced energy procurement and consulting professional with over 20 years in the industry. Currently serving as Head of Group Energy Procurement at Heidelberg Materials since August 2015, Torsten oversees global energy procurement and portfolio management, holding full power of attorney and contributing to the Procurement Leadership Team. As a Senior Energy Consultant at Self-Dependent Consulting since January 2018, Torsten provides independent consultancy on various energy topics across multiple regions and industries. Previous roles include Regional/Global Lead Buyer Energy at BASF, where global procurement strategies were developed, and Senior Portfolio Manager at MVV Energie AG, focusing on portfolio management and asset optimization. Torsten began a career at ABB managing IT projects for the energy market. Torsten holds a Diplom in Wirtschaftsmathematik from Universität Trier and studied at Universidad de Malaga.
