Xingzhu Wu, PhD has a diverse work experience, starting with an internship at Hangzhou Hongsheng Beverage Group Co Ltd in 2014. They then worked as a Research Scientist at Diverse Biotech in 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Xingzhu Wu held multiple roles at the University of California, Davis, including Graduate Student Researcher, Assistant Laboratory Manager, Teacher Assistant, and Reader. During this time, they also served as a Student Representative at the Institute of Food Technologists.

In 2020, Xingzhu Wu became an Innovator Fellow and Venture Capital Intern at the Innovation Institute for Food & Health, UC Davis. They then worked as a Food Scientist - Product Development at The National Food Lab, Inc. from 2021 to 2022. In 2022, Xingzhu Wu joined CURRENT FOODS as a Research and Development Scientist.

Since 2019, Xingzhu Wu has been involved with the Momental Foundation, where they serve as a Research Fellow and Selection Committee Member, providing pro-bono consulting to African startups. Their work involves improving nut drying efficiency and reviewing applications from PhD candidates.

Most recently, Xingzhu Wu has taken on the role of a Process Development Engineer at Heirloom, starting in May 2023.

Xingzhu Wu, PhD, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from the same institution. Xingzhu Wu also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Food Science and Technology from Zhejiang University. They have acquired additional certifications, including a Data Visualization with Tableau Specialization from Coursera in November 2021, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Binghamton University in March 2021, a Certificate of Program Completion from the Momental Foundation through NovoEd in June 2020, and a certification in Nutrition for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from Coursera in April 2014.
