Angie Junck has extensive work experience in the field of human rights and immigration law. Angie is currently the Director of Human Rights at the Heising-Simons Foundation, a position they have held since November 2018. In addition, they are also the Director of Human Rights at the Heising-Simons Action Fund, starting from January 2020. Prior to their current roles, Angie Junck served as the Co-Chair of the Immigration Committee at the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section from an unspecified date in 2013 until August 2019. From May 2005 to October 2018, they worked as the Supervising Attorney & Director of Immigrant Defense Programs at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. Angie was also a Commissioner at the American Bar Association Immigration Commission, starting in September 2012 and ending in August 2018. Throughout their career, Angie Junck has held various positions such as the Crim/imm Law Fellow at the New Voices Fellowship, Associate & Intake Coordinator at the Law Offices of Norton Tooby, and Legal Assistant at the Law Offices of Amitai Schwartz.
Angie Junck attained their Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Rhetoric with a minor in Spanish. Angie studied at UC Berkeley from 1996 to 2000. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law at the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). Angie successfully completed their law degree from 2001 to 2004.
