Engineer at Helaina

Ziev Basson's work experience includes various roles in different companies. In 2013, they worked as an intern at Cycle Connect, where they cycled across the country to raise money and promote awareness for the non-profit organization. In 2014, at the University of Pittsburgh, they served as a research assistant, conducting research on nanofibrous electrode materials for rechargeable batteries. In 2015, at the Weizmann Institute of Science, they worked as a research assistant, focusing on the analysis of a lead-based crystal for use in solar cells. Ziev then worked as a global biologics manufacturing intern at Genentech in 2017, participating in the testing and assessment of raw materials for manufacturing CHO cell products. From 2018 to 2020, they worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as an associate scientist, operating bioreactors and high-throughput instruments for upstream process development. Currently, they are working as an engineer at Helaina, starting in November 2020.

Ziev Basson completed a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University from 2012 to 2016. Afterward, from 2016 to 2018, Ziev pursued further education at Columbia University, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical Engineering.
