Derek Peters

Derek Peters is an experienced media professional currently serving as a Photojournalist/Reporter for Helicopters Inc, where responsibilities include operating an aerial camera and reporting on breaking news for WBBM-TV and WFLD-TV in Chicago. Previously, Derek worked as a Traffic Reporter at Total Traffic & Weather Network, producing and delivering reports across eleven markets, including notable assignments with NBC's "Sky 5" helicopter. Derek also held multiple roles at Radio DePaul, including Operations Manager and Program Director, overseeing management operations and on-air content, as well as hosting and producing various shows. Early career experiences include an internship at 98.7 WFMT, promoting the Studs Terkel Radio Archive, and serving as a Peer Writing Tutor at DePaul University. Derek holds a Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies & English from DePaul University.
