Yawar Shams

Yawar Shams has a diverse work experience in data analytics and business intelligence. Yawar is currently working as the Director of Data Analytics at HelioCampus since June 2017. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Laureate International Universities, including Executive Director and Director of Business Intelligence, as well as Senior Manager of Analytics. Yawar was responsible for leading and managing analytics and modeling for student retention, as well as developing and maintaining forecasts. Yawar also has experience as the Manager of Decision Support at Circuit City and as a Senior Analyst at Lab Safety Supply, where they managed direct marketing analytics and supervised a team of statisticians. In addition to their professional career, Yawar serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus since May 2021.

From 1985 to 1992, Yawar Shams attended the University of Dhaka, where they received their MSS degree in Economics.

From 1995 to 1997, Yawar Shams pursued their Master of Science in Applied Economics from Marquette University.

Lastly, Yawar Shams undertook an MBA (evening) program with a specialization in General Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2002 to 2005.
