Cassie Hajek

Cassie Hajek, MD FACP, FACMG, serves as the Medical Director at Helix and has held a similar position leading the Sanford Imagenetics Program at Sanford Health since August 2012. Under Cassie Hajek’s leadership, the $125 million initiative has integrated genomics into primary care, achieving over 10,000 patient enrollments in preemptive genetic screening. Furthermore, Cassie Hajek oversees a multidisciplinary team exceeding 100 specialists and has contributed to significant advancements, including the development of polygenic risk scores for various conditions. Additionally, Cassie Hajek has held academic responsibilities as an Assistant Professor at The University of South Dakota's Sanford School of Medicine since July 2016, and previously completed a Clinical Genetics Fellowship at UCLA Health. Educational credentials include an MD from the University of South Dakota and dual degrees in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
