Joseph Cartnal possesses extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles within the automotive industry and academia. Since 2014, Joseph has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Children's Interstitial Lung Disease (chILD) Foundation in a volunteer capacity. At HELLA, Joseph has held multiple positions since 1994, currently working as a Six Sigma Engineer responsible for steering Six Sigma projects and guiding teams in problem-solving strategies. Previously, Joseph directed the design and development of automated test equipment as the Manager of Test Equipment Engineering and oversaw the production of electronic modules as an Electronic Product Supervisor. Joseph also contributed to education as an Adjunct Professor at Illinois Eastern Community College from 1984 to 2012 and held the role of Director, R&D Engineering with the United States Air Force from 1987 to 2006. Joseph's educational background includes a Master of Science in Electronics Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
