Mohamed Fazil

Mohamed Fazil has a diverse range of work experience. Mohamed is currently employed as a Robotics Software Engineer at Hello Robot Inc, where they contribute to the software stacks for a unique mobile robot called "Stretch." Previously, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University at Buffalo in the Assistive Wearable Robotics Lab, where they focused on developing a deep learning approach for controlling a robotic prosthetic wrist using EMG signals. Mohamed also worked as a supervisor at the Digital Manufacturing Lab and E Tinkering Lab, conducting workshops and training students in product design and rapid prototyping technologies. Additionally, Mohamed worked as a Summer Researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Institute, where they designed and deployed a touchless clock-in system using face recognition for the University at Buffalo community. Mohamed also gained industry experience as an Engineering Intern at BorgWarner Inc. and worked as an Electrical Engineer for the Zuraa Formula Racing Team at Vellore Institute of Technology. Overall, Mohamed Fazil has a strong background in robotics, electrical engineering, and research.

Mohamed Fazil completed their Master of Science degree in Robotics from the University at Buffalo in the years 2020-2021. Before that, they earned their Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology from 2015-2019. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Fazil completed their Higher Secondary Schooling (XIth and XIIth) in the Maths Computer Science Group from Vyasa Vidhyalaya Mattric Higher Secondary School from 2013-2015.

In addition to their formal education, Fazil has also obtained certifications and awards. Mohamed received the "Best Project University Award - Twice 2018-2019 Consecutive Academic Years" from Vellore Institute of Technology in May 2019. Mohamed was also the winner of the "IOT Challenge" at Pragyan - NIT Trichy's Technical Fest in January 2017. Furthermore, Fazil participated in the "IIT Madras International Accessibility Summit 2017" organized by Shaastra, IIT Madras, although specific details regarding the obtained month and year are not provided.
