Christine Yoo

Christine Yoo is a software engineer who is currently employed at Walnut. Christine has also worked at Lee's Review as a frontend developer and at Thinkful as a software engineering program.

At Lee's Review, Christine implemented UI components for a web app of a tutoring service. Christine also collaborated with teammates in a lightweight agile process to deliver software seamlessly. The technologies that they used include GatsbyJS, React, Sass, Git, and GitHub.

At Thinkful, Christine worked on the Sweet Bloom e-commerce app. Christine implemented full CRUD operations for product reviews using form validation. Christine also implemented a persistence layer using a SQL database and Knex library. In addition, they implemented snapshot and unit testing to achieve 100% code coverage for both client and server-side apps, which were deployed using Vercel and Heroku.

Christine also worked on the Collab productivity app. Christine implemented full CRUD functionalities for posts and user comments to organize communication. Christine also engineered form validation; built and deployed database with 3 linked tables in Express using PostgreSQL; utilized asynchronous fetch requests, React Context, and React lifecycle methods; and designed background art using Adobe Illustrator and GIMP.

Lastly, Christine worked on the LUMINA educational app. Christine rendered the Astronomy Picture of the Day using NASA APOD API and helped users learn about the cosmos through search queries using the NASA Image and Video Library, yielding up to 50 results per search. Christine performed asynchronous fetch requests using JavaScript promises and manipulated the DOM using jQuery. The app was designed using a mobile-first approach and form validation.

Christine Yoo attended the University of California, Los Angeles for both their undergraduate and graduate studies. Christine earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Teaching and a Master of Education in Education from UCLA's School of Education and Information Studies.
