Ben Pollard

Ben Pollard has extensive experience in the field of data science and analytics. Ben is currently working as the Head of Data Science at HelloSelf, a position they have held since April 2019. Prior to this, they worked at JustGiving as a Senior Data Scientist from January 2015 to March 2019. In this role, they focused on personalization and optimization using various machine learning techniques and tools. Before that, Ben worked at Experian Marketing Services UK as a Lead Analyst from September 2008 to October 2014, leading projects that involved machine learning for customer segmentation and profiling. Ben began their career at Aviva plc as a Consultant, where they worked on generating call-center schedules, automating processes and reports, and descriptive modeling projects from January 2005 to September 2008.

Ben Pollard earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Psychology from The University of Sheffield in 2002. Ben later pursued a Master's Degree in Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining from the University of East Anglia from 2005 to 2007. In addition, they obtained several certifications, including the Deep Learning Specialization and Sequence Models from Coursera in 2019, as well as various Coursera Course Certificates in 2017. Ben also completed an Intro to Hadoop and MapReduce course from Udacity in 2014.
