Yih Sung

Yih Sung is currently a Research Engineer at Helm.ai, having previously served as a Software Engineer at Cepton, where notable contributions included designing a rapid plane regression algorithm for ground detection and pioneering a new optimizer for non-differentiable loss functions. Yih Sung has extensive academic experience as an Assistant Professor at Utah State University and University of Illinois Springfield, specializing in Complex Analysis, Complex Geometry, and Number Theory, while also conducting research in Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing. Additional roles at University of Wisconsin-Madison and Purdue University involved both teaching and research in mathematics. Yih Sung holds a PhD in Mathematics from Harvard University and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from National Taiwan University, alongside a B.S. in Physics.
