Serene Lee

Serene Lee is a highly experienced scientific professional currently serving as a Scientific Writer and Publication Manager at Helmholtz Munich since December 2022. Prior to this role, Serene held the position of Head of Research and Development at HTCR-Services GmbH from July 2011 to December 2022, where responsibilities included leading the development of protocols for cell isolation and characterization and acting as the primary investigator for collaborative research programs. Serene's previous experience includes a postdoctoral research scientist role at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from July 2010 to December 2022, during which a Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship was received, focusing on signaling pathways related to cell death and tumor progression. Additionally, Serene contributed as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Nebraska Medical Center from January 2007 to September 2009, establishing a co-culture model and investigating inflammatory responses in liver damage. Academically, Serene earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the National University of Singapore, where a Bachelor of Science with honors in Biological Sciences was also obtained.
