Arafath Najumudeen

Arafath Najumudeen is a Group Leader at the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE) since September 2022, currently serving as a FIMM-EMBL Group Leader and Academy of Finland Research Fellow. Prior to this role, Arafath was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute from March 2016 to September 2022, where projects focused on understanding energetic stress and metabolic rewiring driven by Ras oncogenes in cancer. Arafath's academic journey includes a PhD in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Åbo Akademi University (2011-2016) and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Bharathidasan University (2005-2010). Arafath also gained experience as a Research Trainee at Jawaharlal Nehru University from October 2009 to September 2010 and as a Doctoral Researcher at Åbo Akademi University from January 2011 to March 2016.
