Dr Natalie van Dis

Dr. Natalie van Dis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE) since September 2023, focusing on the adaptive potential of wild butterfly populations through temporal genomics. Currently, Dr. van Dis also serves as the Code Club Leader for the Society of Open, Reliable, and Transparent Ecology & Evolution (SORTEE) starting January 2024, facilitating code review sessions and resource development. Previously held positions include Data Manager at Utrecht University, with an emphasis on Open Science and FAIR data, and PhD Candidate in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Groningen, where research concentrated on rapid adaptation to climate change in the winter moth. Dr. van Dis co-founded Gewoon Vega, promoting vegetarian food in university settings, and has extensive experience in environmental education, ecology communications, and academic assistance. Dr. van Dis holds a Master of Science in Environmental Biology with a focus on Behavioral Ecology from Utrecht University and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Ecology & Cognitive Neuroscience from University College Utrecht.
