Akalanka Moragoda

Akalanka Moragoda has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Akalanka is currently working as the Head of Risk & Control at Hemas Holdings PLC since 2023. Prior to this, they co-founded Moas Exclusive in 2021. Akalanka has also held various positions at John Keells Holdings PLC, including Senior Manager - Forensic Data Analytics & Assurance Services from July 2022 to October 2023, Manager - Forensic Data Analytics & Assurance Services from July 2021 to June 2023, Assistant Manager - Forensic Data Analyst from July 2019 to June 2021, and Forensic Data Analyst from January 2019 to June 2019. Akalanka also worked as a Finance Associate at John Keells Holdings PLC from January 2017 to December 2018. Additionally, Akalanka worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Expert Campus from February 2022 to October 2023 and started their career as an Audit Trainee at EY from February 2014 to August 2014.

Akalanka Moragoda completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura from 2015 to 2018. Akalanka also pursued studies in the Association of Accounting Technicians Sri Lanka from 2011 to 2012 and earned a certification in Accounting and Finance. Akalanka obtained a Chartered Management Accountant certification from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2015 and a Chartered Certified Accountant certification from ACCA in 2017. Akalanka further expanded their education by studying Accounting and Finance at the ACCA from 2016 to 2017. Currently, Akalanka is enrolled in Cardiff Metropolitan University for a Master's degree in Data Science, which they started in 2022. Akalanka also holds a certification in Forensic Accounting from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and additional certifications in courses such as Engaging in Persuasive and Credible Communication and Creativity, Innovation, and Transformation.
