Srivatsa (Sri) Aithal, PhD has a wide range of experience in the field of biosensor and nanotechnology research. Starting in 2010, Sri worked as an Assistant Research Fellow at Abnova, where they developed a protein biomarker detection system using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and evaluated the commercialization potential of various biosensor technologies. In 2012, Sri joined the University of Sherbrooke as a Research Assistant, where they developed a photocorrosion-based metrology technique and a live Legionella pneumophila biosensor. At the university, they also handled tasks such as purchasing lab equipment, training interns, and designing electronics.
In 2020, Sri co-founded Celerite Labs before transitioning into a role as a Senior Scientist at HeMemics Biotechnologies, Inc in 2021. At HeMemics, they were responsible for developing carbon nanotube-based sensors for pathogen and protein sensing. Sri also collaborated with industry partners to develop biosensors for water microbial safety and SARS-CoV-2 testing.
Throughout their career, Sri has demonstrated strong research skills and a knack for developing innovative biosensor technologies. Srivatsa (Sri) has proven their ability to lead research efforts, collaborate with industry partners, and contribute to the advancement of the field.
Srivatsa (Sri) Aithal, PhD pursued their education at Arizona State University, where they obtained a Master of Science in Engineering degree. Following this, they furthered their academic journey at Université de Sherbrooke, specializing in Biosensors, and successfully earned their Doctor of Philosophy – PhD degree.
