Nigel Shewring

Nigel Shewring currently serves as Group Director of Research and Development at Hempel A/S, a position held since August 2019. Prior to this role, Nigel accumulated extensive experience at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, where responsibilities included BU R&D Director, SBU R&D Director for Asia Pacific, and SBU R&D Manager for the Americas, from March 2006 to June 2019. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science from Sheffield Hallam University (1993-1996) and a previous Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science from Durham University (1992-1993), where Nigel also earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry (1989-1992).
