Jim Nothel

Jim Nothel has extensive work experience in facilities and operations management. Jim is currently the Director of Facilities and Operations at Hempstead Public Schools, a role they have held since 2022. Prior to this, they worked for Valley Stream Central High School District as the Director of Facilities for ten years, overseeing capital projects, maintenance, and custodial services for four schools.

Before joining Valley Stream, Jim served as the Manager of Facilities/Maintenance at Genzyme Genetics, where they were responsible for various aspects of facilities management for a medical laboratory. Jim also worked at Chelsea Lighting as a Project Manager for a brief period.

Earlier in their career, Jim held positions at Pfizer, Astoria Federal Savings, International Center for The Disabled, Integrated Health Care Supply, Diocesan Commodities, and Community Hospital of Schoharie County, in roles ranging from assistant director to purchasing director.

Jim Nothel attended Garden City HS from 1974 to 1977 where they obtained their high school degree. From 1977 to 1981, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Accounting at Clarkson University.
